Job Scope:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Writer who can create administrator and developer documentation. In your role as a Senior Technical Writer your primary responsibility will be to design and develop both administrative documentation for the configuration of a Priceplay marketplace and developer documentation for the integration of third party tools into the Priceplay platform. You will also be responsible for developing, revising, and maintaining a wide variety of customer and partner facing technical documentation including online help, FAQs, Release Notes, white papers targeted at software developers, documentation for technical components such as Single Sign-On (SSO), and other technical marketing documents. You must be able to edit technical documentation originated by engineering staff and work with code samples to generate easy to understand examples.

You must be able to work in a fast changing environment and be able to handle multiple projects concurrently. This requires exceptional organizational skills, experience performing multiple tasks, and excellent written and verbal communications skills. You should have some experience programming or documenting HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, XML, CSS, and/or PHP. Experience with online procurement, GDS systems, travel, desktop package shipping, online dining, web conferencing, and/or audio conferencing is highly preferable.

Responsibilities:
• Identify and validate content to be used in developer documentation based on input from subject matter experts
• Conduct job-task analysis and use the findings to develop targeted documentation strategies/solutions which meet the needs of the audience
• Provide editorial control over an internal WIki targeted at product development staff
• Provider editorial control and authorship over a website targeted at external developers
• Revise and adhere to the technical publications process
• Develop and maintain administrative user online help
• Develop and maintain helpdesk FAQ and helpdesk online help
• Develop and maintain technical marketing documentation
• Collaborate with product managers, product analysts, developers, and support engineers to gather information and to document new features from scratch
• Collaborate with quality assurance to insure documentation is thoroughly tested and reviewed and perform the final review and editing of documentation before it is released
• Must communicate with internal and external audiences
• Must write clear documentation quickly and with minimal oversight

Required Qualifications:
• 5 - 7 years of technical writing experience
• 2 - 4 years of API documentation or programming experience with HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, XML, CSS, and/or PHP
• Quick learner that can organize complex content into meaningful ways
• Experience using Word, RoboHelp, and Visio
• Experience programming or documenting Java, Javascript, HTML
• Experience developing and publishing online help systems with minimal over-site
• Experience writing help systems that use HTML and/or JavaScript
• Serve in the roles of writer, editor, and peer reviewer
• B.A. in English or related field, with a concentration in Technical Communication or Computer Science. B.A. in Instructional Design with a concentration in technical writing is preferred
